Liturgical Ministries
Our parish community is always in need of parishioners to serve during the liturgy. All those who serve in special roles are servants of the assembly; their task is to help the assembly fulfill its vital role in the liturgy:
• ministers of communion - enable the assembly to unite themselves with Christ in the Most Holy Eucharist and with one another in the body of Christ.
• lectors - proclaim the Word so that the assembly can hear Christ speaking to them in their own place and in this parish.
• ushers/greeters - are often the first persons whom worshipers meet when they arrive at church and so represent the rest of the assembly in offering hospitality. People's impression of the parish is significantly shaped by the presence of a welcoming atmosphere.
• music ministers - enhance the prayer of the assembly by leading us in prayer-songs ("The one who sings prays twice." - St. Augustine).
• altar servers - represent the assembly ministering at the altar during Mass (generally begin at 5th grade; practices are Sundays 9:45am by appointment).
Prayerfully consider if you are being called to serve in a liturgical ministry. Your help is always needed. Call the parish office (652-5001) for details.

The Parish Pastoral Council advises the pastor on
matters affecting the entire parish. Our mission: to
lead all our parishioners to a great love for the Lord

go.

Vocation Committee
Be a part of prayer and activities to promote
religious vocations.
Chairperson: Tim Anderson
The VOCATION CROSS is presented at each
weekend Mass. A volunteer family is commissioned
to take the cross home and pray for vocations each
day that week. Please do not hesitate to volunteer.
Even though you don't take the cross home, all are
encouraged to pray for vocations with your family
each day, perhaps at the prayer before dinner.
Prayer for vocations:
Jesus, Divine Master, who said, "The harvest is great
but the laborers are few," we lovingly accept your
invitation: "Pray the Heavenly Father to send
laborers into His harvest." Inspire a crusade for
vocations. More Priests! May they be the salt of the
earth, the light of the world, the city placed on the
mountaintop for the salvation of the world
redeemed by your blood. More religious! Both men
and women to promote the glory of God and the
peace of the world. May the earth be filled with
young people who will respond to your call with the
gift of their life. May the earth be filled with
seminaries and religious houses. Holy Mary and
Saint Joseph, God's chosen ones, mother and
patron of vocations, pray for us, and for all those
called by God. Amen.
Social Justice
The Gospel impels us to reach out to those in need,
to the poor in spirit and to those who lack material
sustenance.
